If you’re thinking about listing your property for sale, take it from us: don’t do it without the right realtor by your side.
We work with buyers, sellers, and real estate agents every single day, and can tell you firsthand, not all realtors are created equal. The one you choose can make a huge difference in how smoothly your sale goes, how your home is marketed, and even how soon it gets sold.
A good realtor knows the rules, the timing, and the right way to position your home.
They understand how to market it in a way that’s compliant with their license, but also strategic for your sale. That means knowing when and how to talk up your listing, sometimes even before it officially hits the MLS.
These days, the real estate marketing is changing fast. For example, Zillow has updated its policy and may reject your listing if it’s publicly advertised before it’s entered into the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). That means your agent needs to be on top of these shifting rules to keep your listing visible and effective. I was just talking about this with my friend and realtor, Wendy Mullins. She and I see it all the time; some agents stay sharp and informed, while others simply don’t know what’s going on. And that lack of awareness can cost you.
So, before you list your biggest investment, take a step back and ask yourself:
· Does this agent understand the current rules and market trends?
· Are they plugged into what’s happening with platforms like Zillow and MLS?
· Do they have a network of other agents they talk to inside and outside their brokerage?
· Do they have my best interests in mind?
If not, it might be time to keep looking.
We help guide clients through the entire home sale process. That includes reviewing contracts, protecting your legal interests, and helping you connect with trusted professionals, like the right real estate agent.
